Since 2002, students at Wells Middle School have been participating in the VFW sponsored essay contest, referred to as the Patriot's Pen. The local VFW Leonide Lemire Post 6055 has graciously sponsored our students in this endeavor. This is a patriotic essay-writing contest that awards a $10,000 savings bond to the national grand prize winner.  Wells has produced two state-level winners for Massachusetts!
